Adding ncLibraries to your Google Scholar Search

This tutorial will show you how to connect
your Google Scholar search to full text resources available through your ncLibraries. This tutorial will explain: 1.Why you should
connect ncLibraries to your Google Scholar search. 2.How to add ncLibraries to your Google
Scholar search. 3.Where to find full-text articles from ncLibraries in your Google Scholar
search. Google scholar is an excellent tool for searching
and discovering academic articles from a variety of sources and providing access to those resources
that Niagara College Libraries subscribes to. This will help avoid the inconvenience
of finding the perfect article in Google Scholar, only to realize that you have to pay for it.
Thousands of articles are licensed through ncLibraries and now you can adjust your Google
Scholar settings to see what is available to you for free and in full text from the
Library. Here are the steps to add ncLibraries to your Google Scholar search profile. To
begin, type scholar.google.ca into the address bar of your browser. In Google Scholar, select
“settings.” From the menu on the left hand side of the
screen, choose “Library Links.” Type “ncLibraries” into the search bar. Check
the box that says, “NClibraries-Full [email protected]” and then click save. Let’s do a search for “adolescents AND online
communication.” A quick glance down the right hand side of
your screen shows me which articles are available in full text from ncLibraries. In order to access any articles from the ncLibraries
databases, you will need to use your Blackboard login information. There you have it! Research made easy! If you have any questions or would like to
learn more about this topic, contact your campus Library. You can chat with us online,
email us at using [email protected], give us a call, or drop by and see us in person.
