NJFC Scholar Shares Message for Foster Children

A message I would have for not only one
kid but for everyone or anyone that’s going through what I’m going through is
to understand that you’re not at it alone and. you know, certain things happen in life for a reason, for a higher purpose. That purpose we don’t know, but
as long as you keep pushing and you keep trying and you know you keep picking
yourself up and as long as you truly want to change and have good intentions
for everything that you do, I surely promise you that whatever you put.your mind to it will come true. And the reason that that is you know my personal
life story, I didn’t grow up perfect or, you know, things like that, I’ve grew up in
the same situation as you. Being from that I have grown into this marvelous,
you know, new person and I’m only gonna prosper more. So anyone that’s in the
same situation as me, you are about to enter it or leave it or, you know, know
someone that’s in it, you know, just understand that it’s not easy, it’s not
easy at all, you know, it’s not. I wish I could tell you, you know, it’s easy and,
you know, you’ll just make it out and don’t worry about it. No, you know, it’s a
lot of stress and a lot of discourage, you know, a lot of self-doubt just being
in a situation that everyone can’t relate to it, you know, that’s the biggest
thing. It’s kind like if you had an illness, but
that illness is a blessing in the long run if you let it be. So
be real contagious with your influence, but as long as this have good intentions
behind it you’ll succeed. And, you know, being in
group homes and foster homes isn’t bad and you just have to understand
that your situation does not determine where you end up in life. You know, you
won’t stay in that same group or foster home forever. You won’t. I didn’t. Look at me now. Did I just sit there in that situation and
complain and pout all day? No, you know, you have to work for it, but I guarantee
like I mentioned earlier you start to spread your illness and make it contagious, you start influence people because you have good intentions behind it, you’ll
always be able to keep the head above water. So that’s the message that I
for anyone that’ going into foster homes. Don’t ever be discouraged and don’t ever look the opposite way. Use it as a chance to grow. You will start to manipulate the weaknesses within yourself and you’ll, you know, you’ll become a
better character, you’ll have good characteristics about yourself
